This course is an introduction to the physical materials that make up Earth. Students will learn how to identify common rocks and minerals, features of the planet, and the forces that created them. The course consists of lectures, labs, and projects.

There will be quizzes bi-weekly, which are open note. Several tests will be held throughout the semester and are open mind/closed notebook. The Final Exam is open notebook. There is a Pre-Test and a Post-Test.

Formal homework assignments are rare. If a student is not using their time in class wisely, then they would have to make up the work at home, or after school.

Students should make sure that they have a dedicated notebook for this course.
