Go Yellowjackets!

Message from Mr. Conklin

I hope everyone is doing well as we deal with the end of winter. As you know the second semester at JSHS is well on its way. With that being said, I wanted to provide you with some updates and reminders as we head into spring.

  • The wait is finally over! The Eldred PTSA membership hub is up and running. Parents, Grandparents, students, teachers, and friends of the district are all invited to join and become Charter Members! To join, please click the link below. More detailed information is provided on the district website. The Charter meeting is scheduled for March 27th.

  • Family ID is up and running for the Spring Athletic Season. Please go in and complete all the steps necessary to make sure your student/athlete can compete this upcoming spring season. Any questions regarding this can be directed to Ms. Amanda Zgrodek at zgrodeka@eldred.k12.ny.us

  • School Physicals are this month. If you aren’t sure if your child has a current physical on file, please contact Nurse Farragher at farragherd@eldred.k12.ny.us

  • March 17th is a Superintendent’s Conference Day. There is no school for students on this day.

  • JSHS will be hosting another Youth Wellness day on March 31st. Activities will be taking place throughout the day to promote wellness and mental health.

  • The 8th grade is holding their last fundraiser for the year for their annual Washington trip. They are fundraising with Krispy Kreme donuts. All orders are due March 16th and the delivery date is scheduled for March 27th. Please see an 8th grader or Ms. Gueren if you’re interested in helping out the 8th grade class!

  • Lastly, I would like to refer you to the specifics sent by Mrs. Ferreira in January detailing the expectations for virtual instruction. It is important for your child to login to complete their work and meet the specific expectations of their teachers. Please keep in mind attendance still matters on these days.

    • Students will follow their schedule.

    • Attendance will be taken for every period.

    • Students will need to check their email for correspondence from teachers.

    • If a student has a study hall or a reading lab, they do not have to attend a Google Meet.

    • For all other classes, the expectation is that the student will join a Google Meet established by the teacher during their scheduled period.

As always, please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. I can be reached at conklinm@eldred.k12.ny.us or at 845-456-1100 ext: 5183.

Thank you all for your support. Enjoy your evening.

Sincerely,

Michael Conklin

Principal, JSHS
